Unable to deploy package

Hi Everyone,

Attempting to build a new reference image(Hyper-V) with the latest version's of CC. I have built the package using CCP 1.4 but have had no success in deployment of the software. I run the exceptions before hand to install Arcobat and that works, but once i try and install the main package it exits without error and does not install anything. I have tried install from network location and local drive with no success. I have tried on a Windows 7 SP1 image and also on a windows 8.1 image. I'm not sure if this is something wrong with CCP 1.4 or something else?

EDIT: I have just attemped to install on physical hardware and am getting the same error. I have no idea what is causing this.

I have rebuilt the package in 1.4 about 5 times with no difference. Any help would be fantastic!

I don't have an answer for you I just wanted to add to the pile. I have had similair issues getting more current packages to install using CCP 1.4. My logs just throw a generic 1603 MSI error. I have done the package builds and the deployments on multiple machines with and without existing Adobe software installed and across WIn7 and 8.1 with the same resulets. I have also made a previous forum post asking for any help and recieved nothing so at this point I have little hope that whatever the issue is will get sorted. But rest assured from my research neither of us is alone.

I have completed some more testing yesterday and last night, still with no success. I even attemped installing the package that i created with the previous version of CCP, and it does not work now.

I'm not sure if there has been a Windows update that breaks it.

I'm going to install windows from disk and see if that make any difference. Becuase all of the other windows images that I have tested on have been deployed via MDT. I will let you know if I find anything.

UPDATE: Have completed a completely fresh install of Windows 8.1 still get the same error.

the only interesting line that i can find in log files is:

MSI3003f.log

CustomAction CADeploy returned actual error code 1603 (note this may not be 100% accurate if translation happened inside sandbox)

This error message is useless, and I am unable to find any other log files to look though.

Just another update.

I built a Windows 7 SP1 VM this afternoon and installed CCP 1.4. Built a new trail package (Just Photoshop x86) letting re-download all contain again. and I managed to get that installed on the same machine. Just recreating the Full package again now(x64) and will test to see if that works. Fingers Crossed!

This has to been an Issues with 64bit operating systems.

x86 package will install on x86 machine.

x86 package will not install on x64 machine.

x64 package will not install on x64 machine.

Has anyone else been able to install a CCP 1.4 x64 Package?

Have created several packages and on testing deloyment, I click the setup.exe in Build folder installer starts and then after awhile on windows is configuring system, it closes and I see a warning that software may not have installed correctly do I want to re-install, the standard windows 7 prompt.

Have tried multiple system all x64 and multiple packages both x86 and x64

Is this similar to yyour issue?

Yes very similar. Except I get no error message at all. Just see a very quick rollback action and then quit's.

Do any of the adobe staff anything to add? There seems to be few people with issues like this.

Yes, tried on machine with fresh image and it does that extact thing.

All our machines are on x64 but maybe i should try on a x86 vm.

Okay I made a package and enabled the creative cloud desktop app in the package.

The installer comes up and appear to freeze and then freeze system, waited awhile and had to reboot as thought it was doing nothing.

It now appears to be installing most of the package siliently.

Will test on another machine and wait it out.

I'm also seeing exactly the same thing when I try to install from a network share (UNC path), but if I copy over the files and install from a local disk, the installer works fine.

Has anyone had any luck with this yet?

I having the same issue. Really quite irritated with Adobe. Just getting here to this forum and being able to post a comment was a collasal pain.

I've tried x64 and x86 combos, UNC rights (including Everyone Full Access), and mapping drives. If I copy the install locally, it works. I don't have as many workstations as some of you, but I still find this unacceptable. And the 'help' page they send everyone to- referencing CS3, 4, and 5 and Windows Vista, but not CC? Really?

Here is a blog post I found that some of you may be able to leverage. He ends up setting it up to copy the files to the local machine for install, which I really don't want to do, but maybe it will at least get some people back into a little more hands off install, the way an enterprise is supposed to operate.

Same here -- Built a package and tried to deploy following Adobe's instructions, install failed with the 1603 error. I'm extremely grateful that I found this posting so I didn't beat my head against this for days. Local install appears to be working, but What the @#% Adobe? "Use this tool for enterprise installations". No mention of the fact that it doesn't work.
