Very mad at new Enterprise acct. If you opt to transfer assets later, you can't really.

TL;DR, there was not sufficient warning about the concequences of activating my new Enterprise account without choosing the automatic asset migration first. Once you have signed into your Enterprise account, you can no longer do the automated migration.

The only place I found that tells you this is a misleading warning
"Caution:

If you choose to proceed without migrating your content, you are not prompted with this option again. See the Frequently Asked Questions for more details." which, frankly makes it sound like you have dismissed a help dialog and you or IT could trigger it again or find an option after the fact.

and a 3rd bulletpoint buried 13 questions deep in the separate Automated Asset Migration FAQ page.

  • "However, if you sign in to your enterprise account and click No, I Want to Move My Content Manually Later, you cannot initiate the automated Asset Migration process again. To transfer the content manually to your new enterprise account, see Transfer Assets."

"you cannot initiate the automated Asset Migration process again" is very different from " you are not prompted with this option again".

Now I am stuck with several cloud libraries that have assets that are shared with hundreds of individuals around the company and have assets referenced in dozens of photoshop templates that will all now need to be reconnected individually.

Adobe. Whoever. Please add a strong warning about this when users are logging in for the first time. Not buried 2-3 links deep with weak wording. There needs to be a blocker that pops up saying "Are you sure you are ready to activate your Enterprise account without automatic migration? By proceeding, you agree to manually move your cloud assets and that the existing permissions and links to those assets will be lost."

After all this big exciting push to get people using cloud documents, having all of that now inaccessible. At least I didn't have a lot of individual cloud documents with comments and users shared. If I remember correctly, you can't copy user emails from the list of shared users in a library or doc, so you have to go type it manually for every one.

My fun fun story.

I got an email about my "new business account" at work...
"Hi Max,

Your first Business Profile has been successfully set up and is ready to use. Now, when you sign in to Adobe, you’ll see a profile switcher that allows you to select the profile you want to use."

Then some notes about how to switch accounts and "Any content previously stored in Adobe cloud storage is located in your Personal Profile. We recommend that you move the content to the appropriate Business Profile when ready. See detailed instructions on how to move content between profiles."
--- "We recommend that you move the content to the appropriate Business Profile when ready " --- really sounds like you can just do it at any time, right? WRONG
If you are a standard user, this is where you stop. Next time you log in, you see your login options.

If you are diligent and follow that link, there's another link
"If you have assets linked to an existing account or profile, you can migrate these assets from one account or profile to another. The migration can either be done automatically or manually."

and happy little note
"Note:

In the migration procedures described below, comments, versioning information, sharing invitations, and file collaborations in the source accounts or profiles are not copied over."

following that "automatically" link takes you to yet another page with detailed instructions and the warning about re-triggering the migration dialog.

was that helpful?

It was, in that the rep confirmed what I asked. It was not helpful in solving the actual issue. The fundamental inability to transfer original cloud assets between accounts.
