Question

Flash version 17 will not run Xfinity movies?

I installed the newest version of Flash.  When I went back to xfinity to watch a  movie it would not play (either browser Firefox nor Explorer-latest versions of both).  I uninstalled the newest and installed version 16 from the archives and I can now watch the movies again.  SO, question 1, did anyone else have this issue?  Question 2, is there any way to make v. 17 work correctly at Xfinity 2 go?  I've disabled automatic Flash updates until I get some assurance the new one will work.

    Hi nuk473,

If your trying to view protected content there could be some issue with the license between versions, although this isn't normal.

First try logging out of your XFinity account and rebooting the system.

If that doesn't work, log out of the XFinity and clear the license (protected content) from your system by doing the following:

    1. Launch Flash Player Settings Manager:
      • In OS X: System Preferences > Flash Player
      • In Windows: Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Flash Player
    2. In Settings Manager go to the Advanced tab
    3. In the Advanced tab click Deauthorize This Computer
    4. Log back into your Xfinity account and attempt to view the movie

Thanks for the thought.  Since version 16 works so far, I am not sure that I want to uninstall version 16, install the newest flash and then try what you suggest.  I guess the crux of the issue is what use is version 17 when version 16 works for me but version 17 doesn't?
