paragraph formatting lost during cut and paste

I was cutting and pasting text from one part of a file to another.  The text to be moved consisted of multiple paragraphs.  When i pasted the text into the place in the file, all of the paragraph formatting was replaced by the paragraph format of the paragraph where it was pasted. In other words, it is pasting as if I am using

Edit>Paste Special>Text

Any suggestions.

I also had this problem...   uninstalled Skype Toolbar and now it works.

nytomt, THANKS! I removed Skype Toolbar and the problem went away.

I guess Skype Toolbar messed with the clipboard, it "told" Windows whenever certain objects are taken into memory (clipboard) change them to flat ASCI text so it can use them to dial out (Skype Toolbar allows you to select phone numbers on web pages, email, and so on, and dial them using Skype). Thanks again nytomt!

I removed the Skype toolbar and everything seems to be working properly. Thanks to everyone for their input.

I'm having a similar problem with FrameMaker 8.0p277 when cutting and pasting text, and copying and pasting text within the same fm file or between files, the paragraph and character formatting is not being retained - result = plain text.

@Theresa_Oz - did this just start happening or has it always behaved this way?

I think it started about a month ago, I guess I just worked around it a

while before realizing it was a permanent problem. Yesterday I changed my

maker ini settings and OLE object cut and paste OK but table related

    objects still turn to text.

Framemaker 10 (and 9 maybe) changed the default paste formats. Plain text is now the first text format to be pasted. Maybe your plain text is picking up the surrounding format?

I thought that was always the default behavior when pasting FM to FM. You could try checking your maker.ini's ClipboardPriorityFormat= line
