Question

RoboScreenCapture - Screen resizes (zooms-in) automatically when taking screenshot.

Hi,

I have recently installed RoboScreenCapture v2.0 on Windows 10. When I capture a screenshot, the screen automatically zoom-in. Therefore, the screenshot is not correctly captured.

This issue was not observed on earlier versions of Windows.

Could you please help me resolve this issue?

Are you saying that when you paste a capture from RoboScreenCapture (RSC) into FrameMaker, it enlarges to fit the frame?

RSC is a decent tool, but a bit dated. I still use it, but not for all my captures, only the ones that I can easily and successfully create with RSC. For example, the ability to capture a button (like  )

in RSC works well for me.

I also use Windows and Mac (I run Fm on a VM) default screen capture options.

You might resolve this with a number of things, including saving the file within RSC and then importing as you would any other graphic.

Check your preferences in both RSC and in Fm for things that might be causing this.

**A stop-gap solution would be to create an Object Style for the imported image that sets the size/resolution to 100%

Hi Matt,

Thanks for responding to my query. Currently, I am using the RSC to take screenshot and paste those in a word file. The problem has started when I moved to Windows 10.

The scenario can be reproduced as follows:

Open the RSC and press Ctrl + Shift + R to take capture. The intended window is displayed, but it automatically enlarges (zoom-in) and hence the expected screenshot cannot be taken.

Attaching the screenshots. Pls check.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Matt,

In earlier communication (for this issue), I have been advised to contact on "tcssup@adobe.com". . Hope you belong to this D'list?

Please let me know if you have any updates.

@LinSims yup FM is the right place

@Prashant268986375x38 I suspect you're going to have to contact the FM folks with this one - hardly anybody I've heard of uses this tool in their FM workflows (mostly Snagit from all the industry surveys I've seen). See https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/enterprise-support.other.html#framemaker for your Adobe Support options. I'd recommend using the tcssup@adobe.com e-mail address as it reaches a team dedicated to Technical Communication Suite products including FrameMaker.

Let's try this in the FrameMaker forum, as I think RoboscreenCapture is only used in FrameMaker. At any rate I can't find mention of it elsewhere. Someone who knows better may move this again later.
