Just noticed this (using Frame version 15.0.3.573).

-Create a .pdf in High Print Quality.

-Copy verbiage from .pdf into a FrameMaker file (or anything, including Word)

-Get gibberish:

ĂĐŬ ƵƉ ƚŚĞ ǁŚĞĞů ƚĂďůĞƐ ĨŽƌ Ăůů ŵďŽƐƐͬ/ŶĚĞŶƚ ŵŽĚƵůĞƐ ŝŶ ƚŚĞ ƐLJƐƚĞŵ͘

F ^ĞůĞĐƚ &ŝůĞ х džƉŽƌƚ tŚĞĞů ^ůŽƚ ŽŶĨŝŐƵƌĂƚŝŽŶƐ͘

if you .pdf a file from Word, it's fine.

Files that I .pdfed a couple weeks ago are also fine - I can copy/paste from them.

Is this supposed to be happening?

Thanks for any information you can provide.

    Correct answer Amitoj

Please try update 3 of FrameMaker (2019 release) and let us know if with the update it is working correctly.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I had the same problem (only with font Google Open Sans).

And this happened only, when I created the PDFs via FrameMaker's internal PDF creation.

When I used Distiller (in the Publish pod Use Acrobat Distiller for PDF generation), everything was fine.

With update 3 (15.0.3.603) this was fixed. When I create my PDFs via FrameMaker, the text which I copy from PDF has the correct encoding.

    Thank you Amitoj!

    Best regards
