Disappearing Fresco files - HELP!

I recently opened a file in Fresco and then quickly closed it again remembering that I needed to copy a layer from another file. Went and copied that layer and then when I came back, the first file was completely missing. All I did was open it and then close it again, and POOF it was gone! I can't find it on in my Cloud documents either!

 

I had a document go missing a few months ago too, but that one I CAN see on my Cloud documents (although still not inside Fresco).

 

What happened? How can I get my file back? It was an important one. Also, I'm scared of this happening again.

Thank you for the ideas. I checked my deleted tab both on my iPad and on the cloud, and it is not showing up in either place. I looked through all my folders in both locations and cannot find it there either. I remember the file name -- is there a way to search my cloud or files on Fresco by name, just in case I missed it? But so far, it appears to just have mysteriously disappeared. Very frightening to me!

Hi again. Just to reiterate, I still have not found my missing file in any deleted tabs or on the cloud. My question is NOT resolved. It is still missing. Is there a search function in Adobe Fresco or on the cloud? If not, that would be very helpful right now!

Sadly, it is still not showing up even when I search. I really don't understand! It's not in my deleted folder still either. Where did it go? I still have the JPGs I exported from it but not the original Fresco file anywhere.

It's disconcerting to hear that you're still unable to locate your missing Fresco file. Since you've already checked the deleted tab and tried searching for it by name without success, it might be helpful to sign out and sign back in to see if the file appears or if it's associated with a different account (Google, Facebook, or Apple).

 

If you're still unable to find it after signing in again, I recommend reaching out to our technical support for further assistance. Same Issue here now in Feb 24 2024. Just GONE! I tried logging into old profiles, I looked in adobe assets, I checked in the deleted folder on both the app and Adobe CC desktop app. GONE - Missing files from June 2024 and before. THOUSANDS of them. I chatted into Adobe help and got a huge load of crap about how they no longer use the Sync feature since 2023 and users were told to back up files. This doesn't at all esplain where my art files went to from June 2024 and before. Even if that's the case... What about artfiles that should just be in my Fresco Files folder??? I am a Children's book artist and now I am missing all my workable Fresco files. My livlihood is now in question as I cannot access or even see files I need to edit.

Hey Lydia,

 

I can totally feel your frustration—losing all those files, especially as a children’s book artist, is devastating. You’re not alone in this, and I really hope we can figure something out.

 

One thing to double-check—when logging into Adobe Fresco, did you use “Continue with Google”? Sometimes, users accidentally log in with the wrong email or a different profile, which can make files seem like they vanished.

 

Looking at your Google login (ly*********t@gmail.com), it shows Used/Quota: 8.087 GB/105 GB—which means storage shouldn’t be the issue. Try logging out and back in, ensuring you use the exact same method (Continue with Google).

 

Also, if files weren’t fully synced before an app reinstall, they could have been lost—though I really hope that’s not the case. Let me know if anything changes after re-logging in!

Thank you for the u standing. It's truly been gutting and I've had to recreate several pieces and have lost so much I can't even account for what it is I have lost until needing to grab the file.  I reached out to adobe and have had absolutely no luck with recovery. They've had me log into various accounts, they've had me look at adobe assets, trash files, everywhere and there is no hope it seems. Fresco just vanished several months of work and it's poof, gone. I did not reinstall the app or log into the incorrect account. Fresco normally when you open it has all your files right there on the my files page and now there just gone. I wish they could be recovered or an explanation could be offered by Adobe because to risk using these platforms and products to just have files up and vanish is not ideal for any creator

Hey Lydia,

 

I can’t even begin to imagine how gut-wrenching this must be for you. Losing months of work—especially pieces you may not even realize are gone until you need them—must be beyond frustrating. I truly wish I had a way to restore them for you right away. Unfortunately, if the correct login account and method were used and the files were not synced to Creative Cloud, there isn’t a way to restore them. Since you’ve already reached out to us and checked all possible locations, I don’t think there’s much more that can be done at this point.

 

To prevent this from happening in the future, I strongly recommend regularly exporting your work as PSD files and checking the Cloud Document website to ensure everything is properly synced. That way, you’ll always have a backup of your work.

 

I know this isn’t the answer you were hoping for, but I truly appreciate your patience, and I’m really sorry for the frustration this has caused.
