Fresco smudge tool not working and app crashes

Community Beginner ,

I'm using latest version of Fresco on Surface pro 7 and the smudge tool almost never works. I have to restart the app several times or uninstall and install it again and then SOMETIMES it works. Sometimes though the app crashes completely when using the smudge tool. Its extremelly annoying having to do all of this to use this tool. Please explain what I can do for this problem

I see recent posts from Jamie Lynn and a Like from Nicktendo28. Time for my update. I had tried all the things you say here, and they "fixed" my smudge tool - temporarily and arbitrarily. I was very, very close to purchasing a new two-in-one since an Adobe Support tech said it was simply that my GPU speed was too slow. However, in the meantime, I kept updating Fresco as updates came out, and I am VERY happy to report that the issue went away over that time. I have my WONDERFUL smudge tool back AND discovered the magic of the Liquify tool! I must say that the Transform took a turn for the worse since no matter what the size of a layer(s) components are, it gives a transform box that is MUCH larger than the shape, so the challenging rotate tool and the resize edges are ridiculously far away from the object - but that is for another forum. Back to my smudge tool - I only have to hope that I didn't jinx it, and that the next time I go in to use it, it functions magically again. It has been stable for at least three months now. Hope this helps.
