I can't install Adobe Fresco!

I can't install Adobe Fresco because I am getting the information that my operating system is outdated and it is from Windows 10 v.1809. Which is not possible because yesterday I updated Windows to version 20H2 (the latest version of Windows). Minimum requirement Fresco is Windows 10 version 1903 or later, so...

Thank you for your reply Anshul!

 

I did try using Powershell as you said but unfortunatly it did not work.

 

As a side note, since we didn't care to keep anything on the Surface Pro 6 we were trying to install it on, I went ahead and did a clean install of Windows 11 on the device and then Fresco installed with no problem.

It looks like the installation is failing due to a missing framework dependency for salwa23627337141g, "Microsoft.VCLibs.140.00.UWPDesktop". This is required for Fresco to install on your machine. If that doesn't help, would you mind whitelisting this "cc-api-data.adobe.io" URL in the system network firewall? If you are using any third-party network adblocker or antivirus, then add that URL there as well. If that doesn't help, then whitelist the URLs in the attached txt document.

I have the exact same Problem with my Surface Pro 7. I also can't install any of the UWP Runtime Packages you linked above. It either won't let me install due to an error or the file that you linked to is just a plain text file that links to another site which also contains file downloads I can't install. I tried running them as admin as well and it won't work either way.

We understand how upsetting it can be to not be able to install Fresco on your computer. Would you mind trying the following steps and checking if it helps:

  1. Close all Adobe applications.
  2. Open Installed Apps.
    1. Start > Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.
    2. Search > Microsoft Visual C++.
  3. Select Microsoft C++ Redistributable, click the three dots, and choose Modify.
  4. On Microsoft C++ Redistributable Setup, click on Repair.
  5. Click on Close once setup is successful.
  6. Also, install the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable from here: https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe.
  7. Restart the computer
  8. Relaunch Creative Cloud and install Fresco

 

If the issue persists, kindly upload the error log file here (https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/share-your-files-in-6-simple-steps/td-p/12967...) so that we can check it on our end.

We apologize for the inconvenience you're experiencing with installing Fresco and encountering error 191. We understand how frustrating this can be.

 

One thing that you can try is to open "Windows PowerShell" as an administrator from the Start menu and execute the command: "get-appxpackage *Fresco* -AllUsers | remove-appxpackage."

 

After this, restart your system and attempt to install Fresco from the Creative Cloud app again.

 

If the issue persists, please let us know, and we'll escalate the problem to Microsoft for further investigation.
