I am experiencing this issue for many weeks now...
When I begin a work, I have to do it in one sprint and never close it because I have the error code 2, i can only export in PNG or JPEG but cant do an export in PSD and can't save it.
I have delete and install againt Fresco and Creative cloud... I still have the issue...
What can I do ?
Ok I might have something : it occurs when I creat masks in layers...
I am having the same issue with a file. It just started today, and I have never experienced it before. This document was saving perfectly well an hour ago, but now that I am using masks it is usually unable to save. I mean it cannot save at all, even to the cloud, or be exported.
Update: I have been able to save the document by creating a layer, saving and closing, reopening, masking, then saving and closing again. I've lost hours of progress on this document in the process of figuring that out.,

This is super frustrating and I am now experiencing this too. Last night my entire illustration was lost and today I am redoing the work. It bugs me Adobe doesnt seem to care and has no empathy for those whose time and energy is completely wiped. Today, in anticipation of this happening, I decided to save early on. When I did, I got the dreaded error code. Instead of cancelling and exiting Fresco as it suggests, this time, I cancelled and exported it as a psd file to my dropbox. I recommend doing this next time since it will at leadt save your work in an intact way. It will be a psd format however, but at least its not gone. Do better Adobe.

Same exact experience as you, even down to me losing progress on a project last night, attempting it today again and now running into the same issue after hours of work! For me it wont even allow me to save as a psd /: Absolutely debastating to experience this 2 times in a row, unacceptable actually!

Is the whole thing freezing and then crashing? It's such a nightmare, I completely understand the stress. Are you using a base image? After hours of problem solving, I removed an image on a layer that I was using as a base image (a sketch I created and took a photo of) and then it saved. I then took a screenshot of that image, put it back into the file, and it's been okay ever since. Might be something to try. Sorry, I know it really sucks.

I m having the same issue although I was not using any musks. So, I had to restart the app and hoping that the content was saved but now I'm trying to open the file again and they say " Format not supported. This document does not appear to be a valid PSD file". What the hell I created in Fresco. Now I have lost eveything for the second time. Quite annoyed.

Same just happened to me and now keeps happening. Where is Adobe? Why have they not weighed in on a solution? Procreate is free and I've never once had an issue with my files saving or opening.

If it's not saving, click the Export option at the top left of your screen and export the file as a PSD on the cloud. Do this before quitting the app, or you WILL lose your work. Then you can open the PSD file in Fresco later (after you remove your base JPG or PNG in Photoshop, and try again).
This seems to only happen when I am working with masks, and lots of them. This is the only method I have found to circumvent the issue when it happens (and it happens to me all the time), so you won't lose your work. This, of course, assumes you're paying for the full creative suite and still doesn't solve the issue that Adobe should at least be responding to. It sucks when you lose hours on an illustration because of a software glitch.
