Value of vector if no copy/paste selection???

Community Beginner ,

I just spent a few months learning Fresco and moving artwork from Procreate to Fresco, mostly on excitement of vector brushes that would allow me to enlarge artwork with no loss (and wider brush selection).  Now I realize that if I wish to do any copy/cut/paste of selections while working, I have to convert to Pixel.  So, in what scenario would I ever actually use Vector brushes???? Are there artists who create an entire finished canvas without ever using copy/cut/paste of a selection?  Have I misunderstood the whole intent of the vector brushes?  Please clarify!!!!

Big oops here.  It wasn't vector layers that I couldn't select from -- it was graphics brought in externally, i..e, a photo or file.  In Procreate, you do not need to convert those layers to pixel before manipulating.  I was thinking this functionality was related to the vector functionality, as an imported photo is not a pixel layer.... I would delete the post above but I don't know  how!
