My CC app gets stuck while I try to open it.

I’ve tried CC cleaner tool and the ”unknown server error” fix, but neither of then worked.

I'm currently running Yosemite but also had the issue in Mavericks, I believe the issue may have started when i upgraded to Java 8 v25.  I was able to get it working again by added a security exception in java for accounts.adobe.com.

java control panel>security>edit site list...

add the https:// in front of accounts.adobe.com/ ,this forum webpage will not allow me to put in the whole link.

Locking this discussion as this was discussion is referencing a pre-release version of Mac OS 10.10 and a previous version of the Creative Cloud Desktop application.  Please see App doesn’t open | Progress wheel spins continually if you are facing difficulty with loading the applications tab.

If you continue to experience difficulties then please post a new discussion with the specific errors you are facing in the Community: Creative Cloud Download & Install | Adobe Community forum.

I'm using 10.9.5 and I get the same "wheel of death" and am unable to install anything on my second computer. When I install the app, it hangs forever. I've uninstalled and rebooted and still nothing. Is there an Adobe resource or support that can help?

Robert Rigel I am sorry you are facing difficulties with the App tab loading in the Creative Cloud Desktop application under Mac OS 10.9.5.  Please be aware there are several existing discussions providing solutions when using a released version of the operating system.

The discussion you have responded to is regarding Mac OS 10.10 which has not currently released from Apple.  Please see message #13 regarding compatibility with Mac OS 10.10.

Our problem is that none of the PCs here can see the Cloud servers through our network.  We can login but it dead-ends there.  True across all of the computers here.  Only solution that works is to get on another network, forcing me take computers home or fire up a mobile hotspot.  Not cool.

Exactly the same problem here, spinning icon in Apps tab of installer, it seems from this and other threads that their is little concern at Adobe over this, after all by this point you've paid..right. Funny how the payment process never gets stuck on the spinning icon, that always goes straight through.

Time to hit up social media, make others aware of the problems of CC.

Nturpin are you using Mac OS 10.10?  If not what version of Mac OS are you using?

The way I got it to work is to sign back in through Photoshop:

  • Force Quit CC
  • Open Photoshop
  • Go to Help/Sign In and sign in
  • Relaunch CC app

This should fix it.

I can't "force quit" because the app is not really functioning well enough to inform the system it exists. I wish I could force quit, but am unable to do so. After letting it run for several hours, I rebooted, went into my system preferences and deleted the "plist", rebootted and then removed anything that had CC on it. This leaves me with no hanging app, but also I have no Adobe apps! But they do have my money!

The way I got it to work on my Mac running OS X Yosemite public beta:

1. Uninstall all Adobe apps

2. Run Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool

3. Install Java 8 Early Release

4. Use direct downloads for the trials by following these instructions

Good luck!

henningko - Thank you. I've run into many small annoyances with the Yosemite public beta, but nothing was going to make me go back to Mavericks except problems with Creative Cloud. Thanks to you, I can continue to bleed on the edge!

Well I got the same problem and managed to solve it by reading your log file.

It says "Bad access token" or something like this. So in a way, ACC tried to match a token via an other connection to the service. Since they are refreshed, they will not be valid... Since they are registred in the OOBE folder and they are not valid, first thing to do is to remove everything inside after closing ACC.

Just after that, just disconnect from the Creative Cloud WEBSITE (since they already have a connection somewhere, they cannot revalidate some token or something like this.).

Relaunch Adobe CC and then, it will ask you to log in (since you're not logged anywhere ...). Then it should work.

Please tell me if that worked

Mantra and Umedia1 I would recommend re-reviewing the discussion you posted too.  This discussion is regarding Mac OS 10.10 and getting the Creative Cloud Desktop to function.  Since you both have indicated that you are using Mac OS 10.9.4 I would recommend posting to an existing thread on that topic or create a new discussion thread.

Same problem here.... I can't get the trial version to install the applications so I can try them. I've wasted enough time researching this and have only found frustrated customers in my research to resolve it (and I've tried every available solution I could find)

I'm too busy to waste anymore time on this. Moving on to another program provider. Seems like a great product but if I cant even use it, it doesn't matter how good it it.

If you're on Yosemite, downgrade to Mavericks.  It will work when it gets released.  (Or maybe when dp4 comes out.) Yosemite is a moving target.

If you're not on Yosemite, it should be working for you.  Support should be able to help you get it running.

I'm using Mavericks 10.9.4. It's not working. Did a clean install a few times. Deleted the oobe file, restarted.... hours of wasted time. I still have it trying to download the apps (four hours now) and nothing but a blue spinning wheel.

I've got the same issue. I've even used the Creative Cloud cleaner to clean everything Adobe. And I made a new user account (Mac), but still same issue. Running the Yosemite beta.

Yosemite DP3 changed something and the previous workarounds no longer work.  I had the CC app working fine under DP2 (the previous hang for me was trying to open the T&C, but agreeing to them on the web fixed it).  As far as I can tell, it's the embedded Chromium framework experiencing problems and hanging on some thread-related calls.

I've had other strange problems with other apps having similar thread hangs, so I'm thinking this is an OS X issue.
