The "Apply to All" checkbox is missing. This is a huge problem when relinking multiple images (sometimes hundreds in my case) automatically for imposition for large format printing.
This issue came up last year and it looks like it has reappeared with this latest version of Adobe Illustrator v28.5, released 4 days ago. Adobe - please fix this bug as soon as you can. All my templates are affected by this and instead of one global replacement, I now much click for every linked instance. Not much of a problem when there's only one or two relinking clicks required, but when I need to click "Replace" over 100 times, this is a time killer. Please see if you can fix this bug. Thanks.

Hello @Glenn270441875265,
I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Would you mind checking the "Search for Missing Links in this folder" box when selecting your missing asset after clicking on the Replace button to see if it helps?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,
Anubhav

Hello Anubhav. I wasn't sure if my previous reply to another post would be seen ... so I created my new post. You replied to the other post with the same request, and I replied saying that I tried your method but it did not work; I still had to click the REPLACE button for every instance of the linked graphic. I certainly hope they can build the "Apply to All" box back in as this will be a major negative game changer for a lot of my templates.

I'm also having a lot of trouble with the same problem.
MacOS 13.6.7
Illustrator 28.5
There is also a similar bug report for User Voice.
please confirm.
Thanks.

Yes - that is how I do mine as well ... but also on a larger scale. Sometimes my images are duplicated 200+ times and they automatically would re-link with the "Apply to All" option. Now I need to click REPLACE and click on the file hundreds of times. I hope they fix this soon.

As a temporal workaround you could give the new image the same name as the old one.

Ton - yes, that is an emergency work-around. However the named links will be incorrect when pulling up in the future for repeat work. In a pinch for time - yes - that is an option ... but it gives the wrong linked file name moving forward, which could lead to trouble. I'd rather do it correctly the first time - but thanks for the opinion as it is both valid and appreciated.

I agree it should be fixed. This is how it worked in the 2023 version:

Hello Anubhav. Have you guys been working on putting that "Appy to All" box back in? Please let me know when you think it might be fixed. Thanks.

Anubhav - good morning. Please update me on the status of fixing this and returning the functionality to the way it was with the "Apply to All" checkbox. Nothing with the new version does what that "Apply to All" did. Relinking different files (which have different names) using the .AIT templates is what the new version doesn't allow with one click like it used to be. Please give me a status report. Thank you.

Hello @Glenn270441875265,
Thanks for your patience. The Product Team has informed us that this was intentionally removed because of the relinking option. You can learn more about it here (https://adobe.ly/3Vs2LvE).

Thanks for your reply. However, regardless of whether it was intentional or not, the current version does NOT work for so many of us who need to link a NEW image (with a new name) to our files (in my case, I have hundreds of templates with "placeholder images" meant to be replaced with new files using the "Apply to All" check box.) Once again - nothing included in the new version works the same way the "Apply to All" does. On behalf of the tens of thousands of people across the world who work in the printing industry who use the "Apply to All" every day, please tell the programmers to put it back in.

If you have to relink a multiple page document that checkbox is not helping. In print production is a big problem. Please help us. We have a lot of print templates and we are unable to use them.

Hi @Anubhav M
I also am a little frustrated about the "Apply to all" checkbox has been removed from Ai. It absolutely has to be put back in. I often work to server and then sometimes copy folders over to my computer again to work from home (its faster than working through server)...and then links very often must be relinked at opening. And often that would be like 20 images depending on the work.
Please put back in. Pretty sure I'm speaking for several thousands of users.
Thanks Gøran

Adobe - please let me know if you are working on restoring the "Apply to All" check box. Nothing in the new versions will do what this check box did. All my templates have placeholder images that are duplicated multiple times, as many as 200 or more per press sheet. I simply replace the placeholder image with a new file (different name) of the same size, check the "Apply to All" box ... and it automatically populates the entire page with the new image. One click does it all ... but your new version does not allow this and I need to click hundreds of times to do what one click used to do. Please please please put this "Apply to All" check box back to where it was.

Glenn270441875265, perfectly stated and shown by your screen captures! Thanks for making note of this VERY frustrating (and completely unhelpful!) change. Adding back that handy little “Apply to all” check box will hopefully squash this issue. It’s going to take me SO much extra time updating any stepped layouts, without a fix... not efficient.
Please fix ASAP, Adobe!
Adding that checkbox is VERY LITERALLY the difference between 10 minutes of tediously unnecessary clicking, and the former 10 seconds of relinking all files in a single click... My administrator will not be updating any of our other Macs with this update until this is fixed!

Adobe is going backwards with the software. Does anyone working there actually use the software?
