Community Beginner ,

I am trying to automatically fill corners, how us this possible?  I saw an artist named Martin Sati do this with his artwork, but am unable to figure out how to fill corners in my illustration.

Yes, now the link is public.

Based on your sample file which is a bit different from what I expected, I have not tried to find out some other automated way to "fill" the "corners". This sample is not consistent enough to create the automation you are probably looking for.

As a playground for some experiments, you can download a quick sketch of a creature, half cucumber salad or watermelon, half overweight dinosaur that is disenchanted with its entire living.

breG,

Can you show a screenshot/image with an indication or rough sketch of the desired outcome, maybe with arrows and description?

There are scripts that may serve the purpose.

Please use the Insert Photos button at the top of the Replys box (looks like moon over mountains): this will show the image in your post, unlike the more conspicuous Drag & drop attachment which will just give a link.

breG,

I believe this is one for Kurt ( @Kurt Gold ) who has solved the opposite issue, known as the Blob issue.

Based on your screenshot I'm not sure if the sporadically filled areas at the "corners" are automatically created.

There are automatic and flexible ways, but they may not be exactly what you're looking for.

Below you can download a sample Illustrator file that shows two possible approaches. You may take it as a starting point.

Which version of Illustrator are you using?

In case you are using one of the latest Illustrator versions, it shouldn't be an issue to open my sample file.

I hope it's a matter of course that you first unzipped the file before trying to open it in Illustrator.

Otherwise you may clarify further.

I got it open, and this is exactley the type of style I am looking for!  Would you mind breaking down the steps for making this type of illustration?  It seems you effortlessly created these and I would love to know how it is done.  Thank you for all your help!

You may take a bit of time and break down it yourself.

Instruction:

- Select the Live Paint Group on artboard (A1), go to the Appearance panel and check what is there.

- The technique on artboard 2 (A2) is a bit more complex to understand, but you may reproduce it by targeting the sublayer "S_1" and again go to the Appearance panel to see what attributes and effects are used there.

You could share one of your samples as an Illustrator file, so one can see what may be possible.

breG,

You can Save a Copy as a PDF with preserved AI Editing Capabilities (ticked), or share a link to the AI document uploaded somewhere else.

Curiously, attachment of AI is not allowed, so it has to be wrapped in a PDF.

Edit: Cross posting.

Unfortunately, your download link is not public.

In Google Drive there is a setting to make it available for everyone. You may try to enable it and share another link.

It sounds like you might be talking about using Live Paint and the Shapebuilder. Check these tutorials to see if they help you do what you want:
