I get this error message every once and a while when it changes to outlines and I try to switch back to preview mode. I just added 16gb to my hard drive this month so there should be any issue of memory space on my computer. Help Please!

I'm in the same boat as everyone here. Below are screenshots of the error messages wI've been running into.

I've been trying to keep up with the responses, seems like no solutions have come through on Adobe's end. Does anyone have any work arounds? I've been trying to keep tabs on responses, seems like someone was talking about reallocating the memory to second scratch disks or something. Has anyone vetted that? Is that worth looking into? I just got a brand new maxed out iMac so it's frustrating that Illustrator isn't running properly but I also don't want to mess with any settings quite yet.

Is there any way to contact adobe directly, or is that a shot in the dark considering their shit customer service?

I have tried the scratch disk fix and although I had a good feeling about it, I crashed after 3 hours while just moving a shape.

Adobe has contacted me and is going to capture my computer and will try to troubleshoot it. If any solutions are found when that happens I will post to this thread. Very frustrating indeed!

Same issue here, working on a simple file in illustrator on a Macbook pro 2014 2.5ghz 16go, Nvidia750, clean install, GPU drivers up to date.
Quite annoying considering that my old mac mini from 2012 reads the file without any issue...

Jumping into the mix here too. Same errors "not enough memory ID 108", beachball of doom, lags when trying to move the most simple shapes. Latest error came trying to open a new document without anything in it! All happens pretty randomly so identifying probable cause is pretty tricky.

I've had this problem arise 4 times today. After reading several of these I hit cmd+y and the problem was fixed. I don't think this is a long term fix but I can't wait around for a fix. Hope this helps

Hi everyone!

I just chatted with an Adobe representative and they mentioned this is a current bug that they are working on to fix - unfortunately there is no specific fix that we as consumers can do. However, he mentioned downgrading your version to the previous version and there wouldn't be a bug in that version. I know it is not ideal to have to downgrade but it will at least get rid of this possibility of losing artwork to this option as well as get rid of that annoying message. I am downgrading! Yes, Adobe. It's still happening. The two files I had open when it happened now are displaying only in grayscale, even after restarting. The colors are there, but not displaying...which, of course means that I also can't save them as JPGs or PNGs.

Have faced same error, i would suggest a not so professional solution for this problem.

Reduce the artwork size to very low and try completing the work.
