Can't save due to an unexpected error (latest version 24.0.1 and macOS Catalina) on a Server

Now I get this. Adobe, I'm getting tired of paying a monthly subscription for betaware.

 

Solutions?

 

EDIT: Seems to happen while working from a doc parked on a server. Seems to save ok when working from my local hard drive. After getting the alert, I close the doc, assuming it will revert to the unmodified version, but it deletes the file off the server. Wipes it off.

Please tell us file names and folder names. Illustrator 2020 is a lot more restrictive with that.

If that is the case, then Adobe's programmers are clearly moving in the wrong direction.

A lot of characters are reserved by the system. Since Illustrator does not know where people save their files (might be a server although it's not recommended), it just excludes all those characters from saving.

Hi there,

 

We're so sorry to hear about the trouble you are facing with Illustrator. Though we have limited support on Network and VM related issues( https://helpx.adobe.com/in/illustrator/kb/illustrator-support-networks-removable-media.html).  From personal experience, I would suggest you few things which you must check: 

  • Check if this is happening with your user account only or with multiple users. 

  • Check if there is any antivirus or if there is endpoint security or if there is any restriction imposed by your IT Team. Due to this sometimes the server does not allow the application to save but you are able to save outside the application. 

  • This generally happens when network policies or Operating System is updated, check with your IT team for the same.

Rishabh,

 

I just went back to Illustrator 2019, and it is saving to the server just fine. I can only logically conclude that the 2020 version of Illustrator is the issue. I'm also not the only individual experiencing this problem, as other community members are reporting in your bug report area.

I'm having the exact same issue. The error only occurs when I'm working on our servers, on my local drive it's fine. I've opened a ticket because I haven't seen one open that speaks directly about the bug effecting servers.
