Creative Cloud error code 1004 (update) and signed out from Illustrator (can't log back in properly)

Hello. 
I have been using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (but mainly Illustrator) for a while now on my computer. It had been a few months since my last sign-in, and when I went to use Illustrator I got signed out and said I was starting my free trial even though I already had an account which I'd used previously. 
I opened Creative Cloud, put in my email and it started updating before giving me the attached error message. 

Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂

(also wasn't sure what to put as the topic for this, sorry if I've got it wrong)

Hi there,

 

Apologies for the delayed response. You may try using Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to remove the existing installation of the Creative Cloud desktop app & reinstall once done. Let us know how it goes.
