Hey,
I use illustrator cc to create cutting lines to be processed with roland versaworks. line thickness 0.25 and I safe this as an eps file adobe postscript language level 3.
When I open this file with versaworks I sometimes have a dubble cutting lines, close to each other.
This is not always the case
How is this or what am I doing wrong?
Hide the cutline.
Select All.
Choose Object Flatten Transparency.
Show the cutline and save as EPS

I agree that this .eps file also has the Illustrator native data embedded.
This file did not have the problem with outlined paths, just 2 paths combined in a Compound path (for whatever reason).

This issue has plagued me since my first CutContour file.
Just finished watching my Roland double cut my file knowing full well I had no duplicates in the layer.
Then, you come along and say CutContour data must be "Paths" not "Compound Paths."
I never knew this. Mic drop.
I checked my file ....
Every single object was labled compound path!
I selected everything in the CutContour layer and relaesed Compond paths.
However, I had nothing to delete.
Thanks a ton, Ton!

I am having the same exact problem and do not know how to fix it at all. I put the cut-line on the file that I need then when I go to put it into a eps and then to versaworks I open it and check it there is still a double cut-line. How do I get ride of it because my work deals with a lot of cut-lines so I need to figure out a solution.

Please use the layers panel to analyze your file.
There are duplicates of your objects inside.
Also: you have applid transparency to the strokes (blend mode "screen"). That might cause errors as well.

Then please read the Versaworks documentation on how to prepare your stuff. You need to do that and nobody can do it for you.
You need to make sure that your artwork meets the specifications, which can be:
- a path name
- a color (often a spot color)
- overprinting
- a layer name
- a layer position
- or maybe something else.
