It looks like I found a solve for this in the feedback section of the Tech Preview.
It seems that I needed to change my Colour Settings (Edit > Colour Settings) to anything else - it was set as Emulate Illustrator 6
Hi There,
I'm not sure if it's still helpful for someone, but it looks like the problem is if your shape is Compound path.
I suppose, it's hard to calculate 3D with this. (if not impossible š
I had the same problem, and it's gone when I just grouped shapes instead of merging with Path-Finder.
Hope it helps

Hey, I grouped my shapes at first but it showed the same error. Tried it the other way around by merging with Pathfinder, still nothing.. Could someone please help?

Please tell us your hardware configuration and also what's in your file and how large it is. Screenshots help. Does it also happen with simple files?

I would never have thought that the colour settings would be causing this issue. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you. So your amount of RAM should work.
How large and complex are your objects?
Does that also happen in a new document with jut a small and simple rectangle?

yup, even if i make a small rectangle the error occurs.

You are working in 8% zoom, so this rectangle might just not be as small as you think.
Is this perhaps a Large Canvas document? And do you really need this size? Maybe create an A4 or letter size document and try again?

If nothing else works, maybe try and reset the preferences. This will erase your settings.
