Grey Border Around Text in PNG

Hello 🙂

I am trying to export an Illustrator file to PNG with transparent background. I'm not sure if I'm missing something but every time I've tried to export it there is a grey shadow/border around all objects within the image. Can anyone suggest why this is happening? Images included!

In addition to what Dan writes: your Photos app might not be showing it correctly.

If you created the white "shadow" outline using the Appearance panel, the original black character color may be peaking through. If that's the case, you'll need to set the Character color to transparent.

The white is acutally an object as that was the best way I found to get the affect! The object is set with no stroke and is white (#ffffff) in colour. When the file is exported with a white background this grey isn't visible, only when I've tried to get a transparent background.

When exporting, is the Matte color is set to white?

The best option is to use PNG-24 which would avoid having a Matte color.

How are you exporting, using Save for Web or some other way?
