Hi @Peter5EAB Well, so much depends on your jpg image but basically, you want to try one of the presets in the Image Trace panel, which has some various options and then make some adjustments. Once you have those set, click the button to "expand" which will convert the tracing into vector paths. Removing the background will then depend on how complex the image is. You may wish to remove the background first in Photoshop and then do the image tracing.

Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out. You can remove background from the image by using Image Trace > High Fidelity > Expand > Ungroup all layers > Delete the background layer by selecting it. Also, you may watch this youtube tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LU_qxtZwLf0) for a live demonstration.
Let us know if you still need any further assistance. We'd be happy to help you.

Sorry to hear that. As asked by @Monika Gause, please share a screenshot or small clip of your workflow.
Also, could you please share the image with us in which you want to remove the background. You can upload it to the Creative Cloud (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/share.html) and share the download link here or via DM.
