hi ,

it's all in the title ,

could you tell me  please how to delete a path between two anchor points without using the path eraser tool ?

When I select these two anchor points and press delete everything is gone.

ps : I want to keep the anchor points after the deletion

Thank you

with direct selection tool (white pointer) click on the path segment (not points) or drag select over it without going over anything else, and press Delete.

Use the pen tool, click where you want a new point, because the new point is highlighted, you can hit the delete key and the path and new point will be gone, between the two  points on either side of that new point.

It may sound complicated, but once you try it, it will make sense.

I joined two shapes, and now I'm trying to delete the path in the middle which was effectively separating them. (It's for a pattern and this would be the Center Front seam if I left it there, but I don't want a seam-if that's helpful)

I deleted one of the lines no problem using the pen tool, but now the other one I can't seem to get rid of. I do the same thing I just did but now its not working. Any suggestions?

I recommend that you capture your entire screen with any reverent panels open so we can see them. That said have you tried the direct selection tool to select what you want to remove? Another option is to create a cutting object and use it to remove the unwanted area. But these are only guesses without seeing what you are doing.

With some experimentation, I did find that selecting the path can leave orphan points. So keep that in mind as it may be necessary to use Object>Path>Clean up...
