How to do this very nice sparkle trail

Hi, just wondering if anyone may know how to do this nice sparkle trail in illustrator. This looks great as the particles has a nice density fade. And I feel it is hard to archieve this gradual fade while maintaining the random position / form with the spray tool. So maybe this is done somehow else? Thanks in advance for your help!

You may try Scatter brushes.

If you manage to control a scatter brush with a graphic tablet, then this would be simple. I never managed to do that, because of coordination issues. with that stylus 🙂

You could set up a brush such as this and apply several of these to your path.

I don't have a graphic tablet connected, so could not even try.

So these are strokes from my iPad:

Brush settings slightly adjusted:

@Monika Gause Thanks for the answer! I am able to create something like this which looks great!
Can I also ask if there's a way to update an existing scatter brush graphics? I want to fine tune the brush circle sizes to make it look better. But it's a bit time consuming to create a new scatter brush each time I change the sizes. Thanks!

Glad you could get this far!

You can update the scatter brush graphic: just edit the original artwork, then drag it over the existing brush while holding down the ALT key.

Scatter Brush is definitely the way to go.

For that glitter look, create a Swatch folder of various browns and yellows.

Select your dots, and select your Swatch folder, then run the script RandomSwatchesFill.

Create a Scatter brush.
