I have an image that I'm wanting to make a traceable pattern.  So I'm hoping to convert it to some black outlines.  Can someone walk me through how to do that?

I've attached the image for reference

THank you.

You need  rounded rectangles, the corner widget.

Then Object > Path > Offset path

Outline stroke

A clipping mask

Pathfinder panel

Could you describe some details of "traceable pattern"? How do you want to use the pattern?

The example you are showing does not repeat, so will not work as a pattern.

Basically what you can do is draw a rounded rectangle and then use Object > Path > Offset path to make the offset duplicates.

I definitely should have clarified.  This is going to be an embroidery design.  So I want an outline of it that can be traced onto embroidery cloth.
