Question

How to permanently separate repeat objects ie make each object it's own object?

Hi

I used the radial feature to turn a vector image into multiple copies following the shape of a circle.

I would now like to ungroup/isolate each image so that they become their own object so that I can individually treat each vector image without all of them being affected, but also be able to permanently remove them from the group to be manipulated as totally separate objects.

Isolate lets me temporaily do this, but any changes are then repeated amongst all the objects as soon as I click out of the group.

Is there a way to do this?

Thank you.

To convert a radial repeat into individual objects, first select the repeat and go to Object > Expand. Then, you will need to ungroup it twice by selecting Object > Ungroup and clicking Ungroup again. This will separate the radial repeat into a single, editable object, and then the individual objects that make up the repeat will be selectable and movable.

Where is the answer to this question? I have been all over the internet trying to answer this! No one says anything about what to do once you have your array, if you'd like to separate the items. Hello? Anyone? Beuller?

2023 version: Use Layer window menu "Release to layers" - Delete clipping mask layer.

That would be nice, but it does not work for me.

You can try Object > Expand and select: Object

Clipping Mask > Release if necessary

Ungroup
