Unexpectedly, while I was working on my project in Adobe Illustrator, the lights went out without saving my progress. After rebooting my PC, I opened Adobe Illustrator and clicked the recover button, but the
" Illustrator could partially read this file. We recovered as much of the file as possible, but some content might be missing. Open to view the recovered file. Help us figure out what happened by emailing this file to file@adobe.com " error popped out and about 95% of the content in this file is missing.
I also checked the recovery folder, but there was only the auto saved version of the damaged file.
P.s: the file still has the size of its older version.
Any ideas how to fix this?
Hello, thanks for taking my problem in consideration, but I don't need further help to recover it, because I was lucky that before saving the file, I have synced the folder containing the .ai file with Google Drive and there, in the trash bin, I found the temporary file of the document. This way I was able to recover the file and continue the work. Now I taught my lesson to save every project multiple times as separate files, to have a backup.

I'm sorry to hear about the unexpected power outage and the resulting issue with your Adobe Illustrator file. It can be frustrating to lose a significant portion of your project. Generally, the partially read error means the PDF data of the file has gotten corrupted and is beyond repair. The recent versions of Illustrator have been equipped to recover most of the corrupted files; however, in order to further investigate the problem and assist you in recovering your file, we would appreciate it if you could send the damaged file link via DM. I will forward it to our team and try to recover it.
Kindly update the discussion if you still need assistance with it. We'd be happy to help.
Thanks,
Anshul Saini

I'm glad to hear that you were able to recover your file using the temporary file in the trash bin of your synced Google Drive folder. It's always a good practice to save your projects multiple times as separate files and have backups in case of any unexpected issues. If you ever encounter any further difficulties or have any other questions, feel free to reach out.
Best,
Anshul
