illustration turns into weird lines after ram error message

Hi there,

I have a question, I was working on a illustration and I was playing around with the rectangle tool when suddenly my entire illustration just turned into black weird lines, after that I also got a ram error message.

I had been working on this illustration for a while now and when I open the latest safe it does the same thing with the lines.

I'm working on a imac with 8gb of ram memory and when I go into activity on my mac it says it's only using 4,5 gb of ram when I have the file open in illustrator and I have several safari windows opened.

Someone ever had this issue and knows how to fix it?

Hey there. This may be a GPU-related issue. Could you try turning off GPU acceleration, please? Click the rocket in the Control Strip or go to Preferences > Performance then deselect GPU Performance.
