So I am designing a book cover, and need crop or trim marks. I remeeber using when i designed some business cards in the past, I however do not remember what version of illustrator I used. For this one, i am using cs5 - and noticed that my version of illustrator is missing the CREATE TRIM MARKS under the OBJECT menu. As well the CREATE CROP MARKS under EFFECT menu. I have checked my preferences and dont see anything that can resolve this issue. I have watched people using cs5 on youtbe and they have the create trim mark under the object menu, it appears under slice function but mine is missing.

Just use the effect.

Or just draw the trim marks according to the printer's specifications.

Or just export a PDF without trim marks - usually they aren't even needed, because the PDF already contains the necessary information.
