Illustrator CS6 suddenly fails to export files in PNG format.

Hi, my Illustrator CS6 suddenly fails to export files in PNG format. The result it shows is a strange file with .png/tmp$$ format.

Any ideas?.. Thank you .

This has been happening to me for a long time on Windows 10 Illustrator CC. I do not know a fix. However, if you rename the "NAME.png.tmp$$" to "NAME.png" it will be the image you want. I hope that helps! I also know that it will make JPGs just fine, it is something with PNGs only :-)

Anyone ever solve this problem? It just started happening for me to day using an older version of Illustrator CC on Win10

I have the exact some problem when exporting pngs with Adobe Illustrator CS5. It was working fine until late last week (around 4 Nov) and now I get png.tmp$$ files instead. If you edit the name and remove the .tmp$$ extension, the file is there and appears ok.

I am also using Windows 10.

I suspect a windows update has changed something, but this is the only mention of this problem I've found, and its interesting we both started experiencing it at the same time.

Yes, I also thought that Windows update around that time might have something to do with the problem. If I manage to find some time soon to contact Windows support regarding the issue, I will share the outcome here.

For some reason it looks like the issue no longer exist. I noticed yesterday my Illustrator CS6 exports files in PNG just fine.

bluenut04, how it is going with your CS5?

It's still broken for me.

However, I've noticed I can save a PNG file successfully if its the first png file I've saved since closing and reopening Illustrator. Any subsequent png file I try to export, regardless of whether it's a new file name, exporting from a different or new illustrator file, re-saving the previous png file etc... doesn't work, and gets saved as a *.png.tmp$$ file.
