Illustrator Issues When Copying to a New File

Hi,

I’m experiencing a few issues in Illustrator and need some help identifying the causes:

• Why do shapes (such as logos and icons) become distorted when copied into a new file?

• Why do fonts automatically convert to outlines when pasted into a new file?

• Why doesn’t the artboard copy over when pasting into a new file?

Most probably you have some software installed that interferes with the clipboard.

Thanks for reaching out. As Monika suggested, it is quite possible that another program is interfering with the clipboard, which might be the root cause of this problem. You can try to run Illustrator after rebooting your computer in Safe Mode (Windows / macOS) and let us know if that helps.

Here's a list of applications that are known to interfere:

• Parallels Toolbox running with the Clipboard History
• LogoTech Keyboard management software
• TeamVewer Clipboard > Use Shared Clipboard
• Apple iOS device simulator from Xcode
• Windows Multi-clipboard
• Windows Clipboard History
• Clippy
• Chrome Remote Desktop
• Mouse Pointer Highlighter
• AnyViewer
• Pastebot app
• Overzealous antivirus (Digital Guardian) as well as viruses that empty the clipboard
• Vector Magic

Thank you so much! I tried to remove LogiTech, Chrome Remote Desktop on Browerse and it seemed copy over new file is work. I hope is work fine from now on 😉

I'm not sure if awsome screen causing it too or not?

I have never personally encountered any of that trouble. I have collected that list from what has been reported in this forum. So if you encounter software that is not on this list, then please just mention it and I'll happily put it on the list as well.

This is very trouble for me. Thanks a lot for helping.

First, I couldn't copy artboard. Then after awhile, font got outline, and then shapes got distorted (this is very big trouble) 

I did try to look into the plugin, but those seem work fine before. The only new install for me recently are awesome screenshot and iscreenshot? I did try to delete it, and it's still causing issues.

I hope Adobe Team can take a look into these. Shape, artwork got distored ;(.
