Illustrator not using correct GPU again. and again.

Firstly with every illustrator update the software becomes less usable.

Mac Specs bellow.

 

For some reason it KEEPS choosing the intel card and illustrator is drawing like its 1998. Under the energy settings in graphics switching is off. There is no logical reason for it to be slow. This is slowing down workflow and I keep having to rollback illustrator version to 2018 almost. 

Since illustrator does not allow for us to manually change settings and alter options. Will there be an ACTUAL update that sorts all these bugs that are essentially issues from a bygone era.

    Hi @PP1979,

     

    We are sorry to hear about the trouble you are facing. In addition to @Kevin Stohlmeyer suggestion, I would recommend you to update to macOS 12.4, and if that doesn't work, reset Illustrator preferences.

    Disclaimer: Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings, and Illustrator will launch with default settings.

     

    If that doesn't help either, you may try running the app in a new admin user account or root user account, as it is possible your current user profile has gotten corrupted.

      System is updated to latest version. 12.4 Monterey. Sadly I think half the issues are right there by the consults from people in the industy. Graphics switching is off as I have a mac.

      I have tried using Illustrator build, 26.3.1. Whats more strange, I use external monitor. the moment you touch the artboard illustrator becomes unusable. Illustrator build 25.0  also does not recognise the card but 25.0.1 does, however it has the artboard problem mentioned above.

      How is this all possible?
