Hello,

I am working on an Illustrator design in which my type was working as usual. I pasted type from an external Indesign file into the design and it changed the format of all my text. Some of the text was converted into isolated layers whilst others have been broken up into two different text boxes (see screenshots attached). I can't figure out how to undo this or what this new format is even called so struggling to know what to search on forums.

Did you copy a complete layout?

Or just text boxes? Which version of Illustrator, which version of InDesign?

In version 2023 of both, copy paste should actually work very well.

Hello

Thanks for getting back to me.

I copied a mixture of pictures and text boxes.

My illustrator is version 27.1.1 (2022) and Indesign 18.5 (2023). I will update my illustrator now.

However, I still need to resolve how to undo this formatting as it is making it impossible to work in this document. Any advice would be great, thanks
