How do you add a bullet point into my text?

Thanks.

mhtruflo,

In the Type dropdown list I am sure you have a glyph (or something) option. I am still with 10 so I cannot see what you see.

Otherwise, I am sure Harron or someone else will tell you the keyboard shortcut to get the special characters.

Strange to have such a difference between Win and Mac. Easy to overlook, hard to remember. Sorry. It may be time for a bullet.

Not at all, Jacob. We are talking about two entirely different operating systems (superficial similarities nothwithstanding). I would consider it strange if things like OS-level keyboard shortcuts were the same. I do not expect Apple and Microsoft OS developers talk to each other in hopes of achieving UI uniformity.

While on this topic, there are other differences between the platforms:

  • The Option+8 shortcut in Mac OS works only with the 'regular' number 8 key, not the '8' on the numeric keypad. (The same goes for other similar 'special' characters.)
  • The Alt+7 or Alt+0149 shortcut in Windows works only with the numeric keypad, not the 'regular' number keys. (The same goes for other Alt+ shortcuts.)
  • The Option+ shortcuts in Mac OS insert the character immediately upon keypress.
  • The Alt+ shortcuts in Windows insert the character only upon release of the Alt key.

Thank you, Harron.

So, to sum up, everyone, regardless of version: to put a bullet to your head, just type My Alt+0149 (or Alt+7) head, using the numeric keyboard, and it will be right between the eyes words.

Thanks again Jacob, I had found that but the double click didn't work when I first tried it (using a dodgy mouse).

Thanks,

Mark

You are welcome, Mark. It may be time to call in the cat.
