Issues with Illustrator and custom PMS color

We have many clients that use custom pms color. Since the recent update to Illustrtor (27.0.1) when we open a clients file that has custom pms colors in images linked in the document we get this message

the colors wher added and were in fact turned to black. This is very inconvenient, because now i need to get the values from the links and moifiy the color in Illustrator. Is there a way to disable this?

We also have high profile clients that replace the LAB value with thier prefered cmyk vewrasion for consistency across all their vendors. Will this look up the current values and replace them? If so that is unecexeptable.
