Library swatches not adding to swatch panel

When I try to add either a single colour OR a theme from a library into the swatches panel, a single magenta swatch appears and an empty group folder. Is this a bug?

 

I've logged out and in to CC, restarted and tried in more than one document in both CMYK and RGB modes.

    I have seen colors from a CC library become a magenta swatch. What kind of colors where yours? Global? What app did you use to add them to the library?

    I made the themes in Illustrator. They are all global in the input file. These are brand colours, so I need to be able to add them quickly and keep them consistent across all applications; having said that, I have had no issue in adding them to InDesign.
