Lining the map, poly-line over the map

Greetings to all!

I need help regarding a constituency map on which I'm currently working voluntarily. I want you to help me how to simply create a poly-line over the 'red-line' or the borderline that is separating the two constituencies NA-65 and NA-64. I mean to say I want the constituencies map in such a way that all other stuff other than the red-line or 'NA Boundary Line' gets deleted and only NA Boundary remains behind.

Thank you!

well, the most editable result is the object drawn by Pen tool. Your image is not too complex for this.

I was not too precise, just to take a sample, so it took about 5 min. More accurate work would be a bit longer but not too much.

Draw the outer border and the dividing line (only one).

Then select both (the border and the inner line) and use Divide option in Pathfinder panel.

Ungroup the objects.

Now you have 2 closed objects which you can fill, stroke, move etc.

Is it possible to draw the same image using Image Trace? If you've got any suggestions, please let me know.

Is that a raster image that you have placed in Illustrator?

What kind of output do you need? A vector file? A raster file?
