Hey,
I have the same issue in every Adobe programm I use - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
The issue has come up in the past week and occures on multiple machines if I try.
Newest version is installed and still has the issue.
Whenever I go to create a new file and try to type in the sizes, it keeps resetting back to the last used numbers for 3-4 times until it finally gives up wanting to change it.
This is immensly annoying and I can't find any info about this. Any idea what that might be?
Best regards
I changed my general preferences to "use legacy "New Document" Dialog" and the issue stopped for me. YMMV
I just searched Uservoice and was not finding something that matched, so I created one myself.

Hi Everyone,
Thank you all for your patience. We are unable to reproduce this issue on our end. To help troubleshoot further, could you please try running Illustrator in Safe Mode (Win / Mac) and check if the behavior persists. Ensure only Adobe apps are open during this session and observe if the resetting occurs.
If the issue still happens in Safe Mode, would you be open to having a debug session with our product/engineering team? This would allow us to investigate the issue more closely a

Hi DIN-A Siegburg,
I’m sorry to hear about the issues you’re experiencing with sizing in our apps. To help troubleshoot, could you please run the applications in Safe Mode (Win / Mac) and check if the behavior persists? Ensure that only the Adobe apps are open in Safe Mode and observe the results.
Could you also share your system specs and OS version? This information will help us identify the problem. Thank you for your patience!

Hello,
the behavior persists.
Running Win10 on latest Version 22H2,
AMD R5 5500, 32 GB RAM, RTX 4060 TI.
There have been no changes to the system for over a year, only Adobe Updates.
Best regards

Hello @DIN-A Siegburg,
Sorry to hear that did not help. Would you mind sharing a screen recording of your exact workflow and the problem, so I can check it with the team?
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hey Anubhav,
I can't install any software or use XBox Game Bar on this PC but I can simply provide you with 3 screenshots that will do the same as a 5 second video.
I open the program, click "new document" and then this happens:
Picture 1 - the new document window when I open it
Picture 2 - me, typing a different size into width
Picture 3 - 1 second after I type, without me switching to another field, it goes back to what it was.

My team and I have Been struggling with this issue as well for weeks. It's extremely annoying. M2 Max Macbook Pro Sequoia 15.1 (24B83)
It was doing this before I upgraded to Sequoia as well.
Literally never had this problem once in the 20 years I've been using Adobe Creative Suite, now it takes 3-4 attempts to create a document.

Hello @Robert231256682ig2,
Thanks for sharing the screen recording. I tried replicating this on my end but could not. Would you mind checking if it works better after rebooting your computer in Safe Mode? Also, try running Illustrator under a different administrator account (Windows / macOS) and share your observations.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Same issue on a 2017 imac pro, 3 GHz 10-Core Intel Xeon W., Sequoia 15.1, InDesign 2025
Opening new documents, especially Indesign, is super clunky. It jumps around and prevents me from tabbing to the next field, doesn't let me select units, won't let me create or close the window. I have to restart indeisgn which is going to potentially cause me to lose part of a different document.

Same issue in Illustrator and Photoshop ALL THE TIME now. It's extremely frustrating. And sometimes I'll quickly type in the values of the new file and hit return only to get a canvas that doesn't look right. And when I check, sure enough the dimensions aren't what I type because it had been reset.
Something is broken in the New Document panel. Please fix this!

Same issue on macOS here, it is impossible to create a new document with the size that i need without trying it 3-5 times. Same thing happens on different devices of mine on Photoshop and InDesign.

Hello @blurr,
I'm sorry to hear about your experience. I tried replicating this behavior on my end but could not. Would you mind trying to reset Illustrator's preferences as described in this article (https://adobe.ly/4hzTtrR) and checking if it helps?
Disclaimer: Please note that renaming preferences folders will remove all the custom settings, and Illustrator will launch with default settings. You can also save a backup of the folders, the location of which is mentioned above.
Also, try the following steps and check if they help:
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Can i join in too? For me its only in Photoshop, and Ive got 3 macs and happens on all of them. Ive got the latest Adobe software, OS etc. But it was happening with the previous version too - going on for several months. Its also really random as well. I'll have to pay attention and see if its only when I start up or when I keep hopping back and forth throughout the day.
As soon as I tab to the next measurement box it will change my last measurement (eg I type in 160 > tab > changes to 61) and sometimes it will also change the measurement too, ie millimetres to pixels. Even if I select a Phostoshop template it will change it to something else when I click "Create".
Thanks!

Hello again,
I un- and re-installed Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign but the errors persisted.
After completely wiping every single piece of Adobe Software from my system, including registry items,
and giving it a completely fresh install, it now seems to be working as intended.
Best regards

Sorry not sure who marked a fresh install of all CC apps as a correct answer to this issue, but I don't think it is.
I noticed the issue happening spasmodically in InDesign and Illustrator on my Mac mini M2 in the last month or two. Last week I took delivery of my new Mac mini M4 and therefore did a fresh install of all apps. The issue is still persisting where entering values in the new document window ie size and bleed (and margin for InDesign) can randomly change after being entered. Sometimes it takes several attempts before the values stay.

Hello, I am having the same issue of InDesign and Photoshop reverting back to document size and resolution 2-3 seconds after typing in what i need. This persists up to 4 times before it allows my sizing to stick. Its so frustrating and time consuming. Is there any fix yet? I can't seem to find any answers where it has been addressed successfully. Thanks for any help.

They probably marked it correct themselves, because they're the author of this topic and found a solution that worked for them (temporarily, it seems), and then unmarked it because it didn't work for long.

Okay, and we're back to having the issue again.
What the hell, Adobe. It only worked for a single session.
