WHEN ARE PROJECT TURNTABLE FEATURES AVAILABLE?

Hello everyone,

Turntable is now live in the Illustrator Public Beta (build 29.9.14)!

Turntable lets you “turn” your 2D artwork to see it from different angles. So if you’ve got a character, product, or object drawn in Illustrator, you can quickly generate front/side/back views without redrawing everything from scratch.

A heads-up: this is still beta quality. Some of the tech behind it is pretty challenging, so expect rough edges here and there. But that’s why we’re bringing it to you early.

How to try it:

Install the Beta → Open the Creative Cloud Desktop app → look under “Beta apps” → install Illustrator (Beta).
Make sure you’re on 29.9.14 or later.
Use Turntable
Select your artwork (works best with clean, real-world vector art).
Group your artwork first for better results.
Hit the Turntable icon in the control bar or Properties panel.
Slide to preview angles, and hit Insert View to drop one on your canvas.
Use arrows for elevation changes, and reset to go back to the original.

Quick tip: Clean outlines + no backgrounds = best results. We’d love to hear what you think, what feels magical, what feels broken, what you’d want next. Don’t hold back, we’re here for the candid stuff.

Hello! I've installed the latest beta build but I don't see any Turntable button. What's wrong here?

Hi arthurb,

Thank you for reaching out. Would you mind confirming if you have grouped the multiple objects to view the Turntable icon?

Please follow below the steps:

Select your artwork (works best with clean, real-world vector art).
Group your artwork first for better results.
Hit the Turntable icon in the control bar or Properties panel under Transform.

you can do it now... with your drawing grouped and highlighted, go windows > properties and with a bit of luck the properties panel will open... you will see the TRANSFORM section in there, and the turntable button is visible. click on it and wait a minute or two, and the slider comes up. Away you go!

At Adobe MAX 2024, Adobe showcased an experimental feature during the Sneaks session called Project Turntable. In the demo, a 2D vector illustration of a warrior fighting a dragon was transformed into a 3D-like object capable of full 360-degree rotation—all within Illustrator.

I'm wondering if there have been any updates on the status of this feature. Has it been released, moved into beta, or integrated into Illustrator or another Adobe app like Project Neo? I haven't seen anything in recent Illustrator changelogs and would love to know if this is something Adobe plans to develop further or make publicly available.

Any official word or inside info would be appreciated!

Hola,

Hace poco vi un video en Tiktok en el que una persona lograba, con una ilustración hecha en Illustrator, generar con un solo botón que esta ilustración adquiriera 3 dimensiones y el objeto se podía rotar. Es decir, adquiría una tercera dimensión. Busqué en el programa pero sólo me da la opción de generar por medio de un prompt y no con un dibujo que ya esté hecho.

Recently I found the viceo on youtube where one guys shows "generate views" functionality. But I can find it in my beta. Is it available or not?

@alexandern42402146 I think that's Project Neo! I do remember Adobe showing this to us. Project Neo is a web-based platform for creating volumetric designs, graphics, and illustrations. Build 3D artwork in Project Neo and seamlessly bring it into Illustrator to craft stunning dimensional designs!

Not to be that person but the video shows the turntable / generate views option being a simple click that is already integrated in Illustrator. I haven't messed around with Project Neo enough, do you like it?
