"The file is not readable" when copy/pasting from browser on Mac

After the update for 27.7 I am unable to copy and paste images from my Chrome browser to Illustrator. I get the message "The file is not readable" when I try. It still works to click and drag the image directly on to an open Illustator board.

Mac OS 13.4.1

It seemed like an Illustrator issue, since I could paste to Photoshop and InDesign from Chrome. The error seems to have gone away on it's own, though.

Hi,

There is another solution for this:

- first download the png image from browser.

- then drag & drop the png image from folder to illustrator. (don't copy paste it)

Do you have anything installed that messes with the clipboard?

Problem is: that could be Chrome doing this.
