Randomize text characters

I'm looking for a simpler way to create something similar to this when using variable fonts, where each character has random values for any of the axis of the variable font, whether there's only one axis or two or three.

Is that even possible or is there any plugin for this? At a font-level, I know it's not possible, as Illustrator would use the font but the values per character would be the same.

Any help would be amazing.

Thanks,
Fran

Try using the Touch Type Tool which is nested in with the Type Tool. After you've entered text with Type Tool, select the Touch Type Tool, click on a glyph, and change the font or properties. Continue selecting individual glyphs with the Type Tool to make changes.

It is possible in the font level.

Don't know if Illustrator supports the randomness, but it can be coded into the font: https://forum.glyphsapp.com/t/random-contextual-alternates-code/21136
