Requesting Help Converting Text To Outline

My Goal: I would like to convert my text to outline and save AI file as SVG. I am having a design printed on a T-Shirt and the printing company only accepts PNG, JPG, and SVG uploads.

Steps I Have Tried (Independently of one another):

  • Type > Create Outline > Save As SVG

  • Object > Expand > Fill+Object > Save As SVG

  • Export As > SVG [Font > SVG] (Also played around with the decimal settings)

  • Export As > SVG [Font > Convert to Outlines] (Also played around with the decimal settings)

Problem:
Closing out and opening back up the SVG files distorts the text and causes funky letters as seen in the attached image. I can replicate the problem with any font of any size. This has baffled me for the past 24 hours and I am convinced I am going about this the wrong way. Looking for a bit of wisdom and advice. Many thanks!

I seemed to have solved the issue.

Solution:
Step 1: Select Text block > Type > Create Outline > Save As SVG
Step 2: In the SVG Options Dialogue Box Pop Up, Change Type to SVG. Change Decimal Places to 7. Click Ok
Step 3: Close Out and open again to review text.

Note: Higher Decimal Values increases the precision of the SVG data, leading to more accurate representations of the outlined text. This will also increase file size.

I'm having the opposite issue. I want to Convert Outlines to this SVG font I have. Right now it only gives me a bounding box. 🤷‍♂

When exporting, try and set a higher value in "Decimals" in the SVG options.

Thank you for the reply. While exporting, I tried decimal values of 1 through 10 with no luck. It seems to make the text more bold and squish together regardless of the decimal setting.
