save Illustrator Actions with specific pdf settings

I created actions with illustrator, but the save doesn't seem to have the pdf information that a similar action detail in photoshop has. I need my action to save my pdfs as Press Quality ( see picture). Is this not possible in illustrator??

    Yes Illustrator actions are not as advanced as Photoshop and has been this way for a very long time.

     

    My experieince is illustrator actions do not record which preset to use in the action, but the last settings used are remembered. This is decieving as you could be lead to believe that it recorded the preset even though is not showing. If prefs get reset or you used a different preset, then your pdfs will not be per the action.

    This seems to work, Mike. I can repeatedly play an action that saves the same Illustrator file as 2 different pdfs, one flattened with printers marks and the other with transparency and without marks.

    No the actions only show a save as without details.

    And I tried one with a flattened transparency and another without, and that worked.

    and the actions didn't have that info displayed but it worked anyway? thank you for doing this. I don't know why that didn't occur to me!

    One was saved as version 1.5 and the other was 1.7

    I just tested save as PDF with 2 different settings and that worked. Although the settings are not visible in the action, it looks like they are recorded.

    How do I verify this on a pdf? How did you verify it? I tried to check through acrobat preflight, but couldn't find anything
