Smart guides don't let me snap to paths since the last update...

So I don't get this... The software is loaded with bugs and errors and they keep manage to screw it up even more.

Right now, since the last update, Smart Guides does not work like it did before. Now, I cannot snap to a path. I can only snap to an anchor-point ON that path. So if I wanted to make things snap, I'd have to make a path with a million anchor-points.

Is there a way to undo this or install the previous version?

i don't see a problem snapping to paths in CC2017:

You may revert, using the previous versions tab in the CC management app. Using the CC desktop management app, you should be able to go to the gear icon at the upper right. Find the Illustrator install and there should be a Previous Versions option which you can expand.

Or go to your CC console>menu APPS, then scroll down to Find additional apps and right to it you see blue text (probably ALL APPS.) and choice menu, open it and skip a bit down under black letters menu (videos, etc) ther is a blue line VIEW PREVIOUS VERSIONS, click it, you will see the names of all softwares without number, click install and you will see all the previous versions to install according to your choice.
