Stars in a circle with replace spine

i made a circle of stars in adobe illustrator but all the stars are rotated differently. The blend/replace spine video I found online shows it correctly but mine is not turning out that way.  that video was from 2022, maybe something has changed?

my shows the stars in a circle and you can see they are all slightly rotated more and more as the go around the circle. they should appear as the star in the center. Thanks in advance for the help

Thanks Brad. I did try both and it didnt matter. I do see what you mean by they are all the same direction.  I have it working now and all i did was restart illustrator. this 2025 version has had some odd things occure that have been fixed by a restart

I think it's that they aren't rotated at all, and that's because you have that orientation selected. Try the other one.

I can't reproduce that.

Making a blend between two circles, then replacing the spine won't rotate the stars.

maybe i had the steps in the wrong order? I restarted AI and started over and it work. the original one is still the same with the slightly rotated stars. So I guess I'm in good shape.

I have had a couple of odd things happen lately that have been resolved by quiting AI and restarting.

Always a good idea. Also: reboot the computer regularly.
