Stuck in isolation mode (Help a noob)

Hey guys,

I'm just starting to use illustrator and I am trying to create a character that is playing tennis. However I got stuck in isolation mode.

Things I've tried:

Restarting Ai

Pressing Esc multiple times

Double clicking everywhere

Looked through the Ai settings

Right clicking the isolated box, this only shows me the option to isolate it again.

I think the issue here is that the box that is my arm is isolated too, but it doesnt show me to stop isolation mode on that box.

I can't find any other object I've accidently isolated either.

How my screen currently looks:

Thanks in advance,

Pieter

Jasmine,

the bug is fixed in the latest application release.

Do an update to version 25.1 (released today).

It probably happened due to the damaged and almost falling hem at his left thigh.

I've been working in Adobe products for over 15 years - know Illustrator like the back of my hand, and this just happened to me. It's 1000% a bug.

I also just went in to isolation mode, and then it seemed to "get stuck" where I couldn't select anything. I saved and rebooted - still nothing. Saw this fix, and... wah-lah, somehow the opacity got stuck at 50% and the layers were separated and locked.

Adding another 100% confirmation to this - definitely a new bug. Started happening about 1, maybe 2 weeks ago. Exactly what @mhopp said!

  1. In the Layers palette flyout menu, choose the Unlock All Layers command.
  2. In the Layers palette you can see four small circles (right-handside) that are marked with a grey fill. Click on the target circles (one by one) and while they are selected go to the Transparency palette and set the opacity to 100 %

Now the tennis player should be restored and he can immediately play the match of his life.

Excellent fix!  How could that  have happened - even by accident?

I know it happened while I tried to work with isolation mode, thats why I thought I was stuck in there.

Is it supposed to look like this?

As per your screenshot it looks as if you are in Isolation mode, but as far as I can see you are not in Isolation mode. It may be something different.

Can you perhaps share the Illustrator file (.ai)?

have you tried double-clicking outside the isolated object?

Yes I have. Outside of the whole frame and isolated object.

I think the issue here is that I've first isolated the arm object. And the hand after.

You can see that the arm is a darker tint of grey than the rest of the body.  But I can't find out how to exit the isolation mode of the arm.

I don't know if I'm speaking clearly. If not let me know I'll try to explain better.
