Text Alignment Across Middle Line

Is there any easy way to layout text where it appears more like Example 2 below, within a single block of text?

Example 1 shows what happens if text is simply center aligned...

You could do that with a right-justified tab followed by a left-justified tab.

Define a paragraph style which has two tab stops; the first one right-aligned, the second left-aligned.
