The Text to Vector fuction is completely missing from my ai. I am taking a course where using this tool is necessary to complete a project and I am unable to complete this task due to this issue. How do I gain access to the AI tools in Illustrator?

For reference, there is no sign of this feature in my properties panel or in the window drop down. I have the most up to date version and the full creative cloud plan subscription..

Correct answer Anubhav M

So that is version 2024?

Hello @marissac9621428,

Thanks for confirming the version. The new Generative AI features in Illustrator are only available for Illustrator 2024 (v28.0) or later. Kindly update the app to the latest version (https://adobe.ly/3XuVhZP) and let us know how it goes.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav

Same thing! Missing on my side as well though I am using AI version 29.0.1

Text to vector is not mentioned in Properties, and there is no such a function in contextual menu. Object/pattern/generate pattern function is missing as well.

Any ideas how the text to vector feature may be unlocked?

Please go to "About Illustrator" and tell us your version number.

In 28.6 in the Properties panel there should be "Generate Vectors (Beta)" when a document is open and no object selected.

I'm not sure if the version number is something other than 28.6, but that is the only number I am seeing when I go to the About Illustrator pop up. I updated my computer and did notice a new tool available on the Contextual Task Bar as suggested below, however there is still no Generate Vector option in the Properties panel that I can locate, and there is no sign on it in the Window drop down as specified in my course. It seems to work correctly for what I need from the Task Bar, so for now I have access (enough) to the tool to complete what I need.. just not in all the places that it should be? Here are some images for context if you have any other ideas on what might be the issue. Could very well be user error!

Thanks for the help!
