trouble merging paths to fill in an object

I am creating a logo, and I am very new to vector art so I have no idea what im doing. I created these paths for a flower and i want to fill in the shape with color. They are grouped togheter but I cant color in the shape, how can I do this?

I would encourage you to read up on the Live Paint tool. Made for filling enclosed spaces.
