Hello,
I use an illustrator file with variables with 100 datasets.
Problem: when switching through datasets via the small triangle buttons recently gives strange popup "the actual values are not captured and will be deleted when switching , continue?" - was not the case before!! i never had this message since 1 year and i nothing changed, apart from the content of the variables.
When clicking button "ok" the next dataset is shown without problem. The problem is that i cannot make a batch processing any more, because this useless message needs to be clicked every time.
I dont understand which "actual values" are meant and "not captured". The values are fixed and not changed??!?

Just a remark...:
professional sellers on Amazon are required to answer customer questions within 24hours. Also on week-ends. (yes!)
My answer was from Thursday 7:15, almost 102 hours ago now. Ok could be a bit too demanding from amazon the issue with the week end, sure. But a reaction within 24hours is a usual value. just a small remark.
Thank you fort your support.

Hi, we have the exact same issue. No batch exports possible since the message window has to be clicked on every iteration. We have XML Sources with more than 500 DataSets - this is annoying.
Just checked on CS6 and there it's working fine. But in CC 23.01. it doesn't.
For further info:
- problem appears only when images variables are used
- problem appears on both, CSV and XML libraries
bfsdhjgfsdabhjgbfsd45564 did you have a solution yet? What was the last working CC version for you?
I consider falling back to an older version or even CS6.
Monika Gause I've contacted the team chat support with this issue as mentioned above before I came here - just to hear that "they don't give How To support" and get referred to this forum.
At least I've found one user with the same issue here.

There might still be issues with the variables function. Please report this to http://illustrator.uservoice.com. There you will talk directly to the engineers.
ALso you might consider using this script instead: Prepression: Illustrator – Introducing the VariableImporter Script

Just tested on different versions:
- CC 23.01: problem appears
- CC 22.1: problem appears
- CC 21.1.0 or lower: works fine
We will fall back on CC 21.1.0 for now.
Our system: PC/windows10, German
