I got rid of mine, my solution was to let all the Adobe CC updates finish first! do not open any of them! which will take some time... once they're finish, go to your graphics card website download the latest driver install it.  re-start and open illustrator.

Same problem here, I just installed cc 2015, read about the new illustrator gpu performance, updated my drivers- nvidia quatro k series- and keep getting same message  every time  I open illustrator.

Windows, 2 monitors connected, nvidia quatro k4000.

Read about all new staff such as:

System requirements | Illustrator

GPU Performance

And nothing...

I am having the same issue. This only started occurring after the most recent Illustrator CC update. I have the NVidia graphics card on my laptop set to default for all programs, including Illustrator CC. System specs below:

Windows 8.1 Professional 64-bit

16GB DDR3 memory

Intel Core i7 Quad 4th-gen mobile processor

NVidia GTX 860M 2GB GDDR5 memory with driver v353.30

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Same problem for me. Everything (Illustrator, Intel driver, nVidia driver) is the latest version as of today. The good thing is that at least it just says that instead of disabling the live zooming.

Emailing the sniffer file as asked, though I only found that file for Windows in:

C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 19 Settings\en_US\x64\

i also got a Lenovo Y50 laptop with updated the latest Nvdia and intel Driver... and still couldn't run the GPU for Illustrator CC, its un-detected.

Why?, here's why,....

A Lenovo Y50 Laptop its a branded laptop with its own update driver centers for Nvidia and Intel... somehow Lenovo were far late from its OEM Intel and Nvidia Drivers. even though they belong on the same hardware specs.

Lenovo must re-assure its performance by allowing only it's customable Nvidia and Intel driver...and also for it's future update...

If you want the latest update for Nvidia and Intel, you must have to wait for Lenovo to come with its own driver version...

but if your stubborn, you could always go directly to NVIDIA and INTEL to download the latest driver, But here's a thing not all the latest drivers were certified by the OEM's like Lenovo, some OEM like Sony Vaio doesn't even had any update at all.... it forbidden you to install... Why?, it might affect the integrity of the whole hardware...

Just like an Android Phone OS, even if Google announce there would be an international release of its brand new OS version, you'll still have to wait for the OEM to come up with a customable firmware that conforms to that OS... dig it???

Here's a conflicting problem from Adobe

Adobe do only a simple protocol for identifying drivers whether its updated or not.... they do only go to the spec list directly to NVIDIA and INTEL... via online....

for most cases this protocol were so successful for desktop computer,  why, desktop were built to become a plug and play drivers, and it is expected to become generic...

Laptop on other hand, had its various uniqueness, whether its a gaming laptop, mutimedia, work or touch laptop... each driver have to be very specific in order to meet its hardware compliancy and overall OEM experience.

Adobe should considered to change its protocol when it comes to acquiring the power of the GPU, in reality Illustrator CC shouldn't have this functionality at all...

Coz its too redundant... there's already a dedicated functionality for using GPU for Adobe Software, within the intel or NVDIA in windows ecosystem

NVIDIA - NVIDIA Control Panel - Manage 3D settings

and

INTEL - Intel HD Control Panel...

To my fellow illustrators - you could still work flawlessly without the AID of the GPU..

if a pop up message annoys you, just turn it OFF... for now....a wait for two things to happen

NVIDIA and INTEL via OEM UPDATE or lets wait for Adobe illustrator CC update (this time without the GPU button or fix protocols)

Hi, I've no solution but I bought a new Dell Inspiron and an external monitor (Samsung 21"). They work fine together until i start Illustrator and get the dreaded 'Your graphic card drivers are not up to date'.  This is totally idiot. I've gone to the Dell website and installed the latest graphic drivers there, Illustrator still tells me they are out of date!  I went to intel and nvida and downloaded the latest drivers there, Illustrator still says they are out of date.

I suspect Illustrator is out of date and is looking for older drivers. Im using the latest Adobe CC. I get the same problem but not every time I open Photoshop/InDesign/Dreamweaver.

Overall it is an Adobe problem that they need to fix.

I have found that if I uncheck the GPU performance option in Illustrator (Preferences/GPU Performance), everything works just fine and I have some intense patterns to deal with.  Give it a try.  I think by doing this you are essentially bypassing the recent bogus update.

This is exactly my problem. I have a more than capable Nvidia Quadro K5000M. It used to work with GPU performance mode enabled and then one day (after an AI update, I assume) it just grayed out and I have never been able to use my Quadro card with Illustrator CC 2015. I just installed another AI CC 2015 update today and I get the "card not compatible with Illustrator" pop-up window. I am up to date with the OEM drivers, but don't want to risk the OS instability issues by installing the driver direct from Nvidia. Adobe should find another way to validate card compatibility due to the issue you mentioned. It sucks to have invested in a top-of-the-line Dell Precision Mobile system only to have to put up with choppy performance akin to 7 years ago. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit, all up to date via the OEM software updater (Support Assist) with 2 external monitors (laptop display closed/disabled). Not sure why it just stopped working one day.

Same, same, same... what's worse is I just rolled out CC to 16 users with high end Precision laptops and they're all discovering it's kinda sucky pretty quickly.

I just updated CC again. The problem is still present in Illustrator CC (19.2.0) graphics card incompatibility issues. I also wanted to point out that Photoshop CC (2015.1 20151114.r.301) fully recognizes and utilizes my graphics card. So this shouldn't be a problem with my card or my system. Fix Illustrator please! Not everyone can jump on Windows 10 yet (if that is a solution) since many CAD programs don't have the bugs worked out yet. I would guess many professionals are still using Windows 7 with Adobe CC.

I'm using Windows 7. My problem was having VNC installed which puts in a "Mirror Driver" display in Device Manager. I disabled it and now AI works with my graphics card just fine.

Make sure when you look in Device Manager there are no other display adapters that may be confusing AI.

Future Fossil, I can't speak to CAD programs and their level of compatibility with Windows 10 as I don't know what you use, but Adobe CC works flawlessly with Windows 10 as far as I can tell. I use Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Bridge heavily and have had no issues. If you do plan one day to upgrade to Windows 10, don't let worries about Adobe dissuade you. It's fine in Windows 10.

As much as I dislike the "rental" (they like to call it "subscription") plans that we are all forced into now, there is one benefit that we are being afforded, we get frequent updates to patches that attempt to ensure compatibility. Adobe has release several that address Windows 10 in short succession. Obviously Adobe and Autocad could have done that all along, released frequent updates. They swear that these faster updates are the by-product of the subscription model. We all know that's not true as they can release a patch at anytime to anyone, but, having them has been helping as we all try to figure out if migrating to Windows 10 is prudent. I skipped Windows 8 on purpose because it was so bad, but, I have to say, even as fearful as I was about Windows 10, those fears are evaporating. I'm a 3d guy and I use a lot of various, expensive and intense programs. I also use a lot of free, cheap and quick-n-dirty programs for little tasks. I'm not finding any problems with any of them except the Belkin Bulldog backup battery drivers.

I'm not sure that upgrading to Windows 10 is the solution nor am I telling you to do that. I hope they solve this issue soon for those still having the problem in Illustrator. I solved mine by disabling the "Mirror Driver" as I reported. What I'm saying is since I've gotten off topic and rambled is that don't be overly scared of Windows 10. It's pretty nice, and I harbor a lot of disdain for Microsoft and their ability to truly meet our expectations. This time I think they got it right.

For absolutely ANYONE in a corporate environment, upgrading to windows 10 is not an option at all.

FWIW, the IT Department in my origination is doubtful we'll ever see windows 10 on our machines, let alone a company wide rollout of win 8.

If this is solely an illustrator problem, windows 10 or not this is very unacceptable.

Hi, I have just upgraded to CC2015 and was having the same "problem".

I am having Nvidia GeForce GT 630 in additional to my on-board Intel graphic card.

The GPU Performance on Preferences shows:

Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation

Device: Multiple devices found

Version: (blank)

Total Memory: (blank)

I guess Illustrator got confused with these multiple graphic cards. So what I did was to go to my Device Manager in Control Panel to disable the on board INTEL graphic card and relaunch Illustrator. It solves the problem! Now the GPU details are shown properly!

Hope this help! Cheers!
